Being Kindergarten-Kind

Can you imagine a kindergarten class where we allowed and even encouraged children to treat one another like we commonly observe today…and maybe even participate ourselves? If I try, I can imagine such a situation, and it’s all wrong.

Election seasons are always full of escalated emotions and extreme levels of venom and division that is always somehow justified by politicians, the media, and unfortunately one another. In this particular season, the nuclear reaction of COVID-19, racial tension, and economic shakeup have officially elevated the level of intensity to “Face Melter.”

On today’s episode, I share some experiences I’ve had in recent weeks which I hope will cause all of us to take a closer look at how and why we are treating those who have a different perspective the way we are. At the very least, I hope we can take a step closer to “kindergarten-kind.”

As the one and only Bob Goff says, “Love difficult people, you’re one of them.”
