Sleepless Nights and the Parallel Rails of Life
Last week I made this post on LinkedIn that got a little transparent about the sleeplessness that has come with the territory over the course of this pandemic. Apparently, I have a lot of company as the comments and empathy rolled in to make it my farthest-reaching post of the week. But it isn’t all bad. It never is ALL bad…or ALL good for that matter.
It’s been my experience that life is always traveled on parallel rails. One rail is the good things. The smooth things. On the other rail are all the challenges and difficult things to walk through. It takes BOTH rails to go on the journey of a meaningful life. This pandemic has blown up many or most of the ways we lived life and operated our businesses. It’s been tough. However, there are things that have come from this situation that would have been completely impossible had it not happened. Closeness with family, new business opportunities, and a fresh gratitude for the health that we still have.
I hope you don’t get too down on your sleepless nights, they are an important part of what makes you human. They are an important part of a life worth living.
I’m praying that you THRIVE in the midst of the challenges of this week.
